Caroline Partamian is an independent curator, composer, and artist who now resides and works in New York City. Caroline is a curator of exhibitions focusing on the theme of abreaction and somatics in relation to dance, performance, and other more tangible mediums of art. She is a longtime advocate of dance, with training in ballet and modern dance. Partamian was an artist+curator-in-residence at Flux Factory in Long Island City, Queens and still remains active in her alma mater's artistic community. She was a member of the collaborative psych-punk project Scully, amongst other projects The Splinters, Habibi, and The Numerators. She received her Master of Arts from New York University’s Museum Studies program, where she focused on applying teaching methods of postmodern dance to the conservation of contemporary performance art acquisitions at museums. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Anthropology and minors in Music and English. She currently works for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and artist Laurie Anderson. In recent years, she has spent her time in New York City working for various artists including Eva Dean and Amanda Browder, and was an archivist for NYU Fales Library, the Kathleen Hanna documentary The Punk Singer and Death by Audio documentary Goodnight Brooklyn. She has also interned for Film & Video Curator Chrissie Iles and Senior Registrar Barbi Spieler at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Movement Collaborators / Dancers

George Hirsch (Company Member): George Hirsch graduated from the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, receiving an Honors Degree in Dance. He has since had the privilege of dancing for Liz Lerman, Liz Lerman/Dance Exchange, Artichoke Dance Company, dance-Tactics, David Capps/Dances, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance, Regina Nejman and Company, and GoCo in addition to Eva Dean Dance. He has taught workshops at Hunter College, Wesleyan, and University of Nevada - Las Vegas. When not dancing you can find George teaching Yoga at various Studios around NYC. 

Kirana Peters (Company Member): Kirana was born in Saint Paul, MN where her training began in ballet at Minnesota Dance Theater. She pursued a BFA in Dance and a BS in Psychology at the University of Minnesota. It was there she had the privilege of dancing works by Shapiro and Smith Dance Company. Kirana made the move to NYC to study at the Alvin Ailey School's Independent Study Program, and shortly after she jointed JT Lotus Dance Company. Kirana is excited to be working with Eva Dean and her dancers.

Lucia Rodriguez (Company Member): Emerging artist Lucia Rodriguez was born in Miami, Florida. In Miami, she performed with Laissez-Faire Dance Company where she specialized in Haitian dance, immersing herself in Miami's rich Haitian culture. Rodriguez is also a recent graduate of Florida State University, where she studied under Jawole Zollar, Dan Wagner, Gerri Houlihan, and Suzanne Farrell. Upon graduation she has performed with companies such as Urban Bush Women, Eva Dean Dance, and artists Paloma McGregor, and Davolais Fearon. She also recently debuted her company, LVCID, at the Queensboro Dance Festival, as well as the Dumbo Arts Festival.

Kerry McManus (Guest Artist): Kerry McManus is a recent graduate of Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in dance. She has worked with artists such as Robert Battle, Jae Man Joo, Elena Commendador, and Anne Kelly as well as choreographing and performing solo works and collaborative experimental projects. This is her first performance with Eva Dean.

Maria Naidu (Guest Artist): Maria Naidu was trained at the Ballet Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden and later at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in NYC, she debuted as a dancer in 1987 and as a choreographer in 1989. She became a member of the New York-based, international touring dance company Jennifer Muller/THE WORKS in 1991 and subsequentially took a break from her own choreographic work. After 13 years in NYC and eight of them as a member of THE WORKS, she returned to Europe and her own artistic creations. Since the move, she has presented a variety of her own works, choreographed for the opera and theater (Norrlandsoperan, Vadstena Academy, Raseborg Opera Society, Malmö Opera, Malmö Municipal Theatre, Teater 23, Theater Academy Malmö, Helsingborg Municipal Theatre), starred in a myriad of performing arts productions and worked as rehearsal-director at NorrDans (SE) and later at Carte Blanche in Norway. Her work has been presented in 14 countries on 4 continents.

Aria Roach (Guest Artist): Raised in Vermont, Aria Roach graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University with her BFA in Dance and Choreography. As an undergraduate, Aria spent a semester at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, and received a 2015 VCUarts Dean’s International Study Grant to travel to Vienna, Austria. Following graduation, she joined The Yard as Artist Services Intern. Aria has performed works by Deganit Shemy, Martha Curtis, Autumn Waddell, Alison Manning, and Jesse Keller, and has presented her choreography at VCU Dance, Iona College, and The Yard. She is thrilled to perform as Guest Artist with Eva Dean Dance.

Larry D. Rosalez (Guest Artist): Larry D. Rosalez is an interdisciplinary artist from Columbus, Ga. He is grateful to be working in collaboration with Eva Dean Dance and you can find more of his musings on instagram. @larryxdarnell 

Richard Scandola: (Guest Artist): RICHARD J. SCANDOLA joined the Sokolow Theatre Dance Ensemble in 2012. He is a native of southern France where he performed with Les Ballets des Alpes Maritimes, Horizons, and Corps Accord.  Richard moved to New York City to study in the Cunningham Summer intensive and in Limón Institute PSP program, where he discovered a special affinity with this technique and met Jim May who became his mentor. He soon became a dancer of the Sokolow Ensemble. He has since worked with Barkin/Selissen Project, Brice Mousset OUI Danse, HT Chen Dance and Dancers, Valerie Green Dance Entropy, Shadow Box Theatre as co-director for the show “ The Earth and Me”, dancer and puppeteer. Richard kindles his passions for photography and spiritual healing by offering treatment and inspiration to others. He’s currently working on different dance projects and creating his unique performance style.
